Following on from last year’s discussion, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 – one year on. You heard about the application of the Act in both New Zealand and Australia – and how this may impact on your business.  This year we’re offering some thing a little different, with a choice of two Break Out sessions:

  1. Labour’s Labour Laws:  An overview of the proposed amendments to the Employment Relations Act 2000 as well as a general employment law update. We will also take the time to provide some analysis on other aspects of the Government’s ‘to do’ list such as Fair Pay Agreements and compulsory Redundancy Compensation.
  2. Health and Safety Update:  We are just starting to see decisions (guilty pleas) from the Courts following the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. This session will look at the range of penalties coming from these decisions and the themes of these decisions, so as to advise members on the practical steps to protect themselves against a prosecution.
These session’s will help you plan your strategy, so that it is effective, practical and will assist in protecting you in the event of a breach of your duties.
